    In addition to the required textbook, the course will also use papers from relevant publications.

  • Mid-term test I:
    In class on September 24 (Thursday). All material covered in class through September 21 (except consensus with Byzantine faults), and the relevant readings, are included for this mid-term test. The mid-term test will be open book-open notes. See Additional information regarding mid-term test I.

  • Mid-term test II:
    In class on November 3 (Tuesday). Material covered through October 28, 2009, and the associated readings, are included for this mid-term test. The mid-term test will be open book-open notes. While an attempt will be made to relate the questions to material not included for test I, note that the material included for test I may also be necessary in answering test II questions.

  • Final examination:
    Starting at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2009 (duration 3 hours). The final examination will be comprehensive (all material covered in the course and associated required readings included). The final examination will be open book-open notes. The above final exam schedule is based on the UIUC non-combined final examination schedule for Fall 2009. If you have a conflict, please let the instructor know as soon as possible.
